Grace, God’s Grace ~Count down day 14
God’s Grace its not just what you say before dinner!
The Word of God is filled with stories showing us how full
of Grace our God is! It is not the kind of grace we may think of at first. Gracefully
walking, or dancing is not the same as Godly Grace.
We may not think about it every day, but God has been
forgiving people from practically the beginning. God’s people have a pattern of
seeking God, then getting blessed by Him. Then they think they are so special
cause God is so great! Still, that does not seem to stop them from going about
things the wrong way. The Bible is full of stories when the people worshipped
the wrong kind of God, the kind we call little g gods. Forever it seems they
went through this pattern then they would suffer hardship and turn back to God
to get right with Him and have things ‘fixed in their lives So God had them
jumping through hoops to show their desire to be forgiven. They made sacrifices
of lambs and other animals to ask for
forgiveness. Then came the best thing! Jesus came to be that ultimate sacrifice for
our sins, but people still stupidly keep on sinning.
Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for your sins have
brought you down. Bring your confessions and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Forgive
all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.
Assyria cannot save us, nor can our warhorses. Never again will we say to the
idols we have made, ‘You are our gods. No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy.”
The Lord says, “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness;
my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever. I will be to
Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven….
“O Israel, stay away
from idols! I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you. I am like
a tree that is always green; all your fruit comes from me.”
Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those
with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right,
and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners
stumble and fall Hosea 14:1-9
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are
controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. And
remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not
belong to him at all. And Christ lives within you, so even though your body
will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made
right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in
you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your
mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans *:9-11
Thankfully Christ has come to help us no longer be controlled
by our sins, and He gave us the Holy Spirit Himself to live in us to help us
not to sin. We still need to resist the devil, but when we do he has to flee!
The Bible says so! Lets curb our attitudes and complaints this season and focus
on the blessing of God’s Grace and forgiveness,
In His love, Teresa Wilson
