Trusting In His Love~in His Word 10-31-22

Trusting in His Love ~ In His Word 10-31-22

Then you will find favor with both God and people,  and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do,  and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:4-6

Tomorrow marks the date of a special event in my life that showed me just how much I could trust God.

That is what I thought at first, but really it was only the beginning of a year of totally trusting God and staying connected. I had prayed for nearly a year prior  to getting to that point, and God did not  fail me.

When we trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not in our own understanding He will make the path straight. In this path of faith, He brought me a husband. We met in Bethel Chapel in Federal Way, Washington.  It was a journey really. We met on the Sunday before Christmas and visited a friend’s house the following day. I guess it was a set up time by God and me, and a friend of the family, we spent time playing Bible Trivia and getting to know one another. It was said that he ‘baffled me with his brilliance”  Honestly I was in love at first sight, but it took a while to admit it to myself even. God knew.

I had to trust God to the work in us because he was about a thousand miles away most days sometimes further on a ship in the US Navy! Through our first year together we got to know one another in letters, the paper kind because we did not have personal computers yet.

When I read my Bible each day I think of God writing this letter to us. It is full of communications telling us about His personality and how much He loves us if we just look. Just like with our letters.

My Husband and I did not tell one another of our love for 7 months of writing but God’s Word tells us from the beginning. He created a world for us. Okay, I know it was not just for us but as we came from those first humans we too are created in His image and made to love Him, to honor Him and to follow His lead in our lives.

I had to pray 5 times to find out that my ‘Hubby’ was for sure for me, it was not because he was not but because I had to learn to trust God to have given him to me. Each time I accepted one step closer, each letter was a little more love.

In the Word of God the more we read the more we feel His love for us. The more we know God’s Word, the more we know God and who He really is; the more we can trust Him. I had to trust Him through car accidents, and wars, and distance that God would bring my love back to me. Each time there was a real chance he may not, in the flesh I would worry, but because we were formed on His choice for us to be together I could just check my soul or check my heart for peace. He knew the plans He had for us! Through all the letters, and hope and joy I thank God that we met and got to know each other by long distance even. It was a great way to really get to know one another. Without all the visual l confusing you or distracting you from what one another is saying you can really see one another’s true thoughts and feelings. It was cool!

I thank God daily for my Hubby. He and I will celebrate our 35th year of marriage tomorrow and it will be a day that included prayers of thanks to God for bringing us together.

The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat. The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,  making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. Psalm 19:6-8

When you put your trust in God He will bring to pass what you desire, the desires of your heart but truly trust Him to do the directing and follow the path before you. Whether it is looking for a spouse or finding a new job, or home, or maybe even just walking with Jesus, trust is the key.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.            Matthew 6:20-21

For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good.     Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:2-4

Some may think its corny, but as I walk through the garden of Marriage with my Spouse, l all that I do in life, I have to trust the Lord, do good, and take delight in the Lord. My heart’s desire will line up to His Word when I put my trust in Him, and walk in His love.

In Jesus’ name,
