There is Joy ~ in His Word 4-25-2022

There is Joy in His Word! 4-25-22

There is nothing that can rob us of our Joy!

Jesus was talking about joy a lot in John 15-17, most of it was in preparation for His dying and returning and all that would happen. He wanted his followers to know that when He left, He would return but also that He would not leave us alone. His joy will remain with us.

Joy is not like happiness. A lot of people thing it is but the difference is that joy is like an eternal thing. Happiness is fleeting, but His joy like his love will last forever.

Sometimes it may seem like life is chipping away at our lives like a person removing tiles, but underneath that spiritual tile is some good strong solid foundation of God’s love, hope, peace, and joy.

All of these are spoken of in the Word of God, your Bible, but they all hinge together with joy I believe.

You see if you find the world crashing in suddenly, it sometimes seems crazy full up of things that would damage your peace, but when you remember God’s love makes it okay, you can have hope that joy will come in the morning!

Weeping, or sorrow may last for a time ,but Joy comes in the morning, as it tells us in Psalm 45.

If we keep our mind on Him our peace will come and it will be easier to find the joy that He has left with us.

It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world.  So, you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.  At that time, you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. John 16::21:23

. “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.” John 17:13 NIV

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Psalm 16:11

The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:7

Our joy is full. It is a choice to be joyful or to wallow in the sorrow we sit in.

Even Paul tells his followers that though he wanted to die, and be with the Lord, yet he remained so that the joy of those who followed his teachings about Jesus and the Way would help their joy to remain

. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. Knowing this, I am convinced that I will alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith Philippians 1:24-26

What I see in all of this is that if I keep my mind on Him and read His words, it will encourage me and remind me that the joy is still there even when I am sad, its deeper than happy, it is fulfillment!

When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.  I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.                    John 15:10-12
