Do you know that He loves you? In His Word
11-04-13
Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me
so... we have probably all heard the song, but do we really understand it? Do
we understand, grasp the whole of the fact that Jesus loves us?
Probably not, but we can know that His love is
what makes us love one another. If it were not for His love, we would not know
love at all, if we do not know Him, we do not know love at all. We go through
life thinking we know what love is but do we really even know what it, who it
is that is love?
I in them, and You in Me; that they
may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that you have send Me,
and have loved them as You have loved Me. John 17:22-24
Love is-
Life-
through God we receive life. Not just physical but spiritual life. Without Him
we do not exist for it is He who breathed that first breath into our lungs,
that caused our inter parts to form and hearts to beat.
Outstretched – God
stretched out His arms, even His heart, to us, in the form of Jesus; He gave us
hope for tomorrow, encouragement for today and faith to trust Him all through
the birth of Jesus the Christ.
Victorious- He has made us
victorious over sin, pain, sickness and even depression when He died on the
Cross. Knowing that Jesus Christ is with us in our pain, can heal us or direct
us through it helps us to grow stronger in our faith and trust in Him. As we
continue to read the Word we can be fed by the Holy Spirit to build up that
knowledge of this glorious victory that we have in Jesus!
Instead, we will speak the truth in
love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his
body, the church. He makes the whole
body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps
the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of
love. Ephesians 4:16-17
Eternal- God does not
have an end. His love does not have an end, from the moment time began; He
loved us. From the day that we were conceived as a thought; He loved us. Even until the day that we die or are present
with Him in paradise; He will love us.
”As the Father loved Me, I also have
loved you; abide in My love. If you keep my commandments. You will abide in my
love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His love.” John
15:9-10
God's love is amazing. If we really think about it there are few people we
truly love, who love us back, in life. They may or may not include family,
friends, God Himself, pets.
Family loves us from the start but sometimes life
throws a curve and even when they mean well some family members can become
disillusioned and distraught and no longer know how to love. Unless they know Jesus,
this can end a relationship even blood related relationships such as parents,
children, brothers, and sisters can be broken if true Love is not in the midst
of it.
Friends? Sure, we love our friends, some of them
anyway; but unless true Love is in the midst of our friendships, we can dump
one friend and harbor unforgiveness in our hearts toward another and truly
forget they were ever our friends. It is true, without love, true Love in the
midst of our friendships they will not last the test of time.
Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone
who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with
love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that
comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body, you are
called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Colossians 3:13-15
All of the above loves, including the love of our
pets whom some consider family, will not stand the test of time and problems if
we do not know God, Jesus Christ, the Almighty, or true Love first.
We cannot decide to love Him on a whim, it comes with knowing Him first by the Holy Spirit revealing to our hearts and mind who Christ is. Our friendship with Him builds the love of God in us, this helps us to choose our friends wisely and to follow His footsteps in obedience to Him.
Once we know Him, we have accepted that He died
for us and made Him our Lord and all that we have Love in our lives.
Then we have no fear because; perfect love casts
our all fear.
And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God
lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will
not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence
because we live like Jesus here in this world.
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all
fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we
have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.
If someone says, “I love God,” but
hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t
love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has
given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian
brothers and sisters. 1 John 4:15-21
It is all there in print; in His Word
we find His love magnified. Each day when we read it we read the Word of God
that was written just for each of us to read. I believe that each day, each
time you pick up the Word of God you will be fed. Each day that you wake up in
His presence, knowing He is Lord you are walking In His Love, and In His Word.
In Jesus name!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Love. Thank you
for Loving us that we may in turn love you back! Help us to tell you today of
our love toward you and thank you by loving others obedient to Your Word in
Jesus name, amen.
