Advent Day 12- Yes, Mary knew! In His Word 12-12-21

Today our pastor  was teaching about Mary's Song. Somehow I could not remember thinking about this but in the way that God chose her because she was pure, He also chose Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt.

Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings favored woman! The Lord is with you!Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean.                                                                       “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.  He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” Luke 1:28-33

Mary had to wait and nurture her son Jesus from birth to 12 years of age when he spoke the words; "Did you not know I would be about my Father's business?"

I am sure it sent a lightning bolt through her heart as she remembered that God had a plan for her son. Then as he grew up and was about 30ish, she had him help her friends out at a wedding and He said "Woman, what do you want from me? It is not yet  my time!"  again I am sure she felt that excitement that this was God's son, her son.

Moses mother put him in a little boat knowing he was special and to be preserved for God's purpose as well. (Read about this story in Exodus chapter 2).These two mothers gave thier sons up to God's will. Though they were in different ways both had to let go of the cling them may have had on those young boys and even young men and allow God the Father to use them in a mighty way.

I believe both mothers had joy in thier hearts knowing this. I believe this because when on of my kidults do something for God or that shows me they are hearing His voice and following after Him it gives me joy and this seems small but it is all great in God's eyes.

Today take a look at your children, old, youth, or babes and this time look for God's hand on thier lives. If you do not see it yet, pray for it! If you are the kid, pray for your parents that they will see God's hand on you and know they did good in His eyes for He has chosen you.

Give thanks to the Lord ,for He is good and His mercy and grace endure forever!

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14
