Powerful Peace.. in His Word 1-14-2021

Where do you go for power? Do you get it from people around you who give you praise or do you get your strength in the name of Jesus?

Oh, I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.  This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” Romans 1:15-17

There is power in the name of Jesus, wonderworking power, strength giving power, and most of all important to today when we latch on to that power we will find peace! It does not matter what is going on around you in the world today what matters is that you first are right with God in your heart. All craziness, all fear, all confusion will not stand up to Jesus our Lord.
Consider the story of Balaam. He was the guy that God had a donkey talk to.

They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness.2 Peter 15-17

But Balaam responded to Balak’s messengers, “Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God. Numbers 22:18

He knew the truth at a time, the Bible shows us that, he knew where the power of the Israelites came from. He Could not tell Balak he would curse them because God was with them and he knew the power of God was more than anything else! Read more in Numbers  chapters 22-23. Its an interesting story about how God will get His point across.

But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the land of Egypt. Remember the great terrors the Lord your God sent against them. You saw it all with your own eyes! And remember the miraculous signs and wonders, and the strong hand and powerful arm with which he brought you out of Egypt. The Lord your God will use this same power against all the people you fear. And then the Lord your God will send terror to drive out the few survivors still hiding from you! Deuteronomy 7:18-20

The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe[a] that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. John 20:30-31

The life that we live we live through Christ, who saved us, who left His Spirit with us to be a Comforter, and  to give us strength and the power of God to do His will.

So why do we fear the world today? Have hope in God! Trust Him to bring you through anything you have to walk in, even when you don’t think you can do it, if God is for you nothing can stand against you!

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me. Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; nor are there any works like Your works. All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,

Psalm 86:7-9

We need to make the choice to follow the right people, and to follow Jesus in His Word. If we get caught up in the cares of this world, we will no doubt be choked out as the weeds in that parable of the tares and the wheat! But instead let us follow God’s directions and trust Him with all our heart soul mind and strength! Then and only then will we find the peace that passes understanding and know no fear! In Jesus name!

And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So, we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other[a] because he loved us first.                       1 John 4:17-19

Jesus went on to say, “I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power!”  Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed, and his clothes became dazzling white, far whiter than any earthly bleach could ever make them. Mark 9:1-3

Set your mind on things above today, not on earthly things, pray, fast, worship, study the Word of God and gain that peace amid troubles. Drop your worries off on God’s doorstep! Leave them there and accept His peace today! Then remember to open the package He gave you…

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things Philippians 4:8

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for directing our path today, thank you for being the Peace that passes understanding. Thank you for being our God, Lord and Savior not just of our life at the end but daily as we walk according to Your will, direct us today, keep us close that we may hear your voice, in Jesus’ name. amen
