Are you believing to see or seeing to believe? -In His Word
1-24-2021
How do you believe?
Is it because you see God moving? The men who were watching Jesus feed
the man and the more were seeking to catch Him up, but He saw through their questions
and heard their words as He could see their hearts.
These men who only believed when they saw the miracle.
There was a time when I had to go through the surgery to see
the miracle. Or rather to hear of the miracle. When I tore my rotator cuff, and
I knew the position of the tear was going to take surgery. We did all the MRI tests,
and I saw the visual in the screen of the tear. I knew I was torn just so.
God had a purpose in not stopping the surgery, He had a
plan. Just like he could have not died on the cross, Jesus had a plan. Just like He had them gather the 12 baskets
back of more than enough for the men to see; God had a plan.
Therefore, they gathered them together, and filled twelve
baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and
above unto them that had eaten.
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus
did, said, This, is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to
make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. John 6:13-15
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true
bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven,
and giveth life unto the world.
Sir,” they said, “give us that bread every day.” Jesus
replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry
again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But you have not believed
in me even though you have seen me. However, those the Father has given me will
come to me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the
will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. And this is the will of God,
that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should
raise them up at the last day. For it is
my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have
eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.” John 6:32-40
When my prayers for healing were gone, I had prayed, but
felt it wasn’t enough, because I still felt the pain. I kept having less and
less motion and then a friend called on those around us to pray the prayer of
faith. I felt the healing, as I have said before, I felt it as if someone was
gluing me with a hot glue gun. It was weird!
But I did not allow myself to believe the healing was real just yet.
Just that I hoped it was, gave me joy. I also was second guessing my imagining
that it had happened. I still had to go through the surgery cause the symptoms
did not improve. After I awoke from it, my hubby told me they could not find
the tear. That is when I knew for sure it was God! I told the nurse about it and she allowed me
to call a friend to tell them because it was amazing! I got to witness to her
that day! It was not what I figured I
would be doing that is for sure!
Sometimes God has a plan that we do not see. Just as these
men saw the fish and bread be multiplied for the thousands, God sometimes also
shows us what is happening so we can figure it out.
When Peter James and John were praying for Jesus as he spoke
with Moses and Elijah, they saw it and knew Jesus was who they thought he was.
They thought in the physical, but God works in the spirit!
Sometimes we do not know the things going on around us, but
God is working. He is, healing people, He is giving them hope, He is providing
for people’s needs even without them knowing it.
He works in the background while we search the foreground
for His answers. Maybe we need to start believing for what we are praying for,
for real. We are praying for healing of our nation, lets believe it is so!
Now I am not saying name it claims it, but trust God to know what to do. Trust Him who created the world and can create a job for you at the right time for you to pay your bills and trust Him who provided a roof over your head to help you figure out how to fix it when it leaks and provide a friend to help you.
Trust God to get you out of tough situations, that is a hard
one but Peter had three tries to not deny Christ, He was in a tough situation
and he lied. He could have told the truth, but Jesus knew this would happen. He
brought him through it and it taught him humbleness and that God knew things he
did not. He is not going to leave you
nor is He going to forsake you. Trust Him not to leave you alone in the pile of
mud you got yourself into, ask Him for help. He will respond.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22
After reading this scripture this morning it reminded me of
the song, that is actually a prayer.
I will cast all my cares upon You, I will lay all of my burdens
down at Your feet, any time, I don’t know, what to do… I will cast all my cares
upon You.
When I did not know what to do about my shoulder pain, when
I did not know what to do about finding a spouse, when I did not know what to
do about the birth of my third child being beyond blue, when I did not know what
to do about an empty cupboard, when I did not know what to do about an empty
tank and when I did not know what to do about getting to heaven someday… I cast
all those cares on Jesus’ feet. He picked them up and ran with them! If we look back we can see in hindsight that
God has done so many things to help us through life. He may have kept us safe
in an accident that was scary, but lives were saved. All we could do was call
out to Jesus. He saved us.
Don’t look for the miracles to believe today my friend, but
instead believe for the miracles to happen and walk worthy of your calling.
Walk in the path He put before you believing that He will walk you through it.
In His Word, and in His love. . .
