Advent Reading ~In His Word ~December 13, 2020
“God is in the details!” Have you heard this saying?
I believe that God planned out every detail for this
wonderful event in His-story! Look at how the angel gave the shepherds such
details to how to find Him, where, and how he would be wrapped up! I find this
to be a good view into God’s plans for us. He will give us the details if we
listen to His voice.
And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a
baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel
was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and
saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom
God is pleased.”
When the angels had
returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let us go to Bethlehem! Let
us see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” Luke 2
12-15
Glory to God in the highest! Have you given God the glory
for today? Surely there is something that you have noticed to give Him glory
for. Even the fact that you can read the Word of God is a reason to rejoice for
in some countries they do not allow such things. When we stop and pay attention
to the ‘reason for the season’ then we can find a lot of reasons to rejoice and
have hope, then we can find peace in His presence, knowing that He is truly with
us in all that we go through, in all that we do!
God pays attention to what we say or do, and in this He will
remember those who do the right things in honoring Him. In the book of Malachi
chapter 3 there is a lesson on obeying God and not worrying about what others
are doing but focusing on doing what is right. It may seem like the bad stuff
in life are overpowering the good but if we stay strong and in His presence in
prayer and worship and praising Him then we will find the hope, and peace we
need. Then we will find joy!
Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and
the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance
was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about
the honor of his name. “They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s
Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special
treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. Malachi
3:16-17
God had it written down. People in the world may say live
like no one’s watching, but guess what?
We need to live like someone is watching because He is! He
is taking note of that person on the corner that you gave your sweater to. He
is taking note of that over payment someone gave you that you returned to the
person. He is taking notice when you give away instead of selling something you
are no longer using anyway because it will help the other person to achieve their
goals! He sees your need too. He will find someway to help you as well, or show
you how to help yourself, if you pay attention to His direction. He may not
send an angel or a choir of angels as with the shepherds, but your God will
provide a way to get what you need.
God is watching us today, He is looking for honest, true,
faithful, hopeful people who long to sit in His presence and who worship Him
with their lives. Let us put our trust in God today and accept the things we
cannot change and give glory to God in the Highest for those He helps us to
change for the good!
In Jesus’ name...
