Keep the Faith- In His Word 10-12-2020

What is faith?

Faith is believing right? Some how I believe, faith is so much more than just believing…

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:1-3

What is it good for?

Faith makes it possible to live for Christ.

So, we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8

For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.  I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” Galatians 2:19-21

Faith gives us reason to worship the Lord God and gives us entrance into the Holy of Holies.

Who will worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners and honor the faithful followers of the Lord and keep their promises even when it hurts.  Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. Psalm 115 1-5

Faith helps us to trust God to help us remain pure in His sight, and to get that way in the first place. When we choose to believe, that is when faith enters our lives. Because we have that faith in Christ to save us, we have the measure of faith He gave us. Then our Faith can grow! It grows the  more we believe in God, the more we learn about what He has done, and will do not just for us but for all people of all nations, all ages and all walks of life! God will be here for us if we have the faith to believe in Him.

Why do you need faith?

Faith not only is given to us in a measure that we may be saved, but it does so much more! Faith gives us power in the name of Jesus.

We can be bold enough to call out His name knowing, believing that Jesus via the Holy Spirit will save us. A few weeks back I shared about crying out the name of Jesus while rolling a pickup truck and trusting He would do just that, and He did save us!

For I am not ashamed of the good news of the Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who is believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek. For the righteousness of God in it is revealed from faith to faith, according as it hath been written, `And the righteous one by faith shall live,' for revealed is the wrath of God from heaven upon all impiety and unrighteousness of men, holding down the truth in unrighteousness. Romans 1:16-18

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other Gentiles. Romans 1:11-13

What can we do with Faith?

We can have Fellowship with God.

Accept the Truth that Jesus came to earth, God as man, to clear the path and make a way of sacrifice that we may be saved and spend eternity with Him

Accept the Invitation to become Intimate friends and family with God, via the Holy Spirit.

Trust God to be here always with me, and never leave me.

Handle things that come my way because the faith in God says I will live through this, I will walk through this and I will rejoice over this at the end!

What is faith?

Faith is trusting in a great big God who can move mountains and calm seas and take care of you and me!

More faith, more peace.

Heavenly Father help us to grow in faith to be strong enough to do what You would have us do. Help us to trust You more, and more, in Jesus name, amen.
