Create in
me a clean heart… In His Word 3-9-2020
How do we
study to show ourselves approved? How do we divide the Word and Truth correctly
when the world is full of instruction on what to do, where to go and when to
then about when?
We are
told this in church, and we read the it in the Word; “Oh, give me back my joy again;” … Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your
presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to
you.”
Psalm 51:10-13
From this
I can gather we need to be obedient to God in order to achieve Godly direction
and joy in our hearts? I want to have a clean heart; I want that right spirit
in me…but what do I do with it?
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for
honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to
use you for every good work. Run from anything
that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness,
love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with
pure hearts. Again, I say, don’t
get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.
2 Timothy 221-23
Okay, so if we are to run from youthful
lusts, what does that mean? Desires that may not be Godly design? Perhaps even
the get rich quick schemes could be under that label. What I do know is that in
our youth we are subject to be more selfish in our thought process, we are more
likely to follow after the world we live in instead of what God wants. We talk
about things and places that have no direct reference to what God would have us
do; we waste so much time trying to figure out who we are and who we are
supposed to be. Once e realize Christ is the Truth, the Way and the Light, then
we choose to follow Him, but the journey to realization can be difficult for
some. Not everyone can gently accept things, they want to know everything
before they decide what is good and right.
Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and
spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations,[a] which don’t
help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that
all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear
conscience, and genuine faith. But some people have missed this whole
point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in
meaningless discussions.
1 Timothy
14:3-6
We need
to be careful of who we listen to, even in College we are subject to
individuals who do not know Christ, and if they do not know Him then they are
apt to lead us down a pat that is crooked and wide. Many follow men as he Pied Piper
lead the rats! The end up in destruction
or confusion before they stop following the wrong paths. God has placed a guidebook
in front of you to follow. Read the Word, and trust God. To me this is simple,
but to you it may not be so. Even in the days of Peter and Paul and their crews
gathering people and teaching their hearts to believe people were lead astray.
They must stop listening to Jewish myths and the commands of
people who have turned away from the truth. Everything is pure
to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt
and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people
claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are
detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. Titus1:14-16
We have to realize that God has a path to
follow, it is not a way to destruction, it is not disobedient, it is not detestable
or disgusting. You can be certain that the path God has for you is one that
will bring you through goodness and mercy.
In order to understand the Word of God,
to get that Holy Spirit focus; we need to ask Him to cleanse our hearts, to
create a clean heart in us. The when we open our eyes to read, we will see he
Words as He has placed them before us! You may have to give up your selfishness,
but godliness is much better, in Jesus’ name!
