Dailies ~in His Word

Dailies In His Word
August 23, 2019
Today is my birthday. In my family the birthday person has always had the crown for the day. That means they did not have to do anything they did not want to, and that included school work, since we home schooled our kids.  As an adult I enjoyed this tradition and allowed my children to serve, and yes create my meals as well as fix my coffee. This meant that my occasional yearly cups of coffee had more sugar and cream than coffee but it was the idea that my kids wanted to bless me that made it taste good.
They wanted to do good things to show me that they loved me. Sort of like how we are with God; because we love Him we choose to do good works that intern show our faith in Him as well.

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,  make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-22
They treated me the way I taught them to, and today they treat me still on my special day as do we to each of them.  God helps us to do things the right way by establishing the right traditions in our homes. Traditions like going to church, thanking God for the day and food, things that last in their lives are important for families to do. Teaching them to follow God was the best tradition we ever taught them. In reality all we did was lead by example and allow them to follow until they found Jesus on their own and ran with Him.
Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. (Paraphrased a bit)
Heavenly Father, thank you for teaching us to lead our families in the path you gave us, that they may find the path to you on their own. May they lead their own families one day too. In Jesus name, amen.
