In His Word

There is a scripture that says that God
will use the simple things of this world to confound the wise. I like to joke
that I am the simple thing, because I tend to frustrate some very smart people
with my simplistic approach to Christ and living the life my God has called me
to live. Wisdom from above is pure, but that of the world, not so much.
For it is written: I will destroy the
wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent I will reject. Where is the
wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God
made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that
in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the
foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe.
1 Corinthians 1:19-21
The wisdom from
above is different, it is the one thing that is pure and whole and it only
comes through the Holy Spirit speaking to and through us. We can’t even begin
to grasp the things of God without Him explaining to us through His Spirit.
But, as it is
written: That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into
the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him. But to us God
hath revealed them, by this Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yea,
the deep things of God. For what man
knows the things of a man, but the spirit of a man that is in him? So the
things also that are of God no man knows, but the Spirit of God. Now we have
received not the spirit of this world, but the Spirit that is of God; that we
may know the things that are given us from God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-12
Heavenly Father, We thank you for
granting us the discernment through Your Holy presence in our lives. Help us to
lead by example and bring others to your door step. In Jesus’ name, amen.
