Dailies ~in His Word
May 30, 2019
It is kind of interesting but I did not recall reading this
verse, though I know I did, today it stood out to me.
Before you Gentiles knew God, you were
slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist. So now that you know God (or should
I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become
slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world? You
are trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or months or
seasons or years. I fear for you. Perhaps all my hard work with you was for
nothing.
Dear brothers and
sisters, I plead with you to live as I do in freedom from these things,
for I have become like you Gentiles—free from those laws. Ephesians 4:8-13
The first verse I
kind of remember but the rest was like; Wow that was so clear what Jesus was
saying through the writer! He shared
straight truth to us, through these verses He was sharing it with the people
and yet, He was there right there in Spirit sharing this with the Gentiles and
with us through the author of Ephesians!
God came to earth
to be like us so that we could follow Him to God Himself! He desires for us to
desire to follow after Him and live like Him. He wants to spend time with us
all the time, and yet we put so much in front of Him, even become a slave to
the addictions we put before ourselves as gods. It is sad, but also it is fantastic
that our God made a way where we as a people had shut Him out! It’s like He breaks down the door to our
hearts and waits for us to notice Him and allow Him in.
When we see
someone we admire, we want to spend time with them. That’s how it should be
with Jesus; we should desire to spend time with Him over anything else.
Heavenly Father,
help us today to seek You, to read your Words and to hear your voice spirit to
Spirit, heart to Heart… in Jesus’ name, amen.
