Dailies~ in His Word 2019
Day 29
What do you treasure, and where do you
keep it? Timothy was told to guard what was entrusted to Him, and not to get
caught up in foolish or useless talking. It is easy to get caught up I the ways
of the world and think we have to do things the way ‘everyone else’ does.
There is a treasure that I hide in my
heart; the Word of God and the fact that it is a treasure worth learning. I
learned a while ago, and have to occasionally be reminded, that God has put us
each on our own path. That means my steps are not the same as my kids’ steps, even
if they follow my trails, they will forge their own way. Even when we find a
spouse to walk the path with we will see things a little differently because we
walk on different sides of the same path. As long as we keep the path straight
we will end up I the same place because we have the same foundation. That
foundation is Jesus Christ as our Lord.
By doing this
they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so
that they may experience true life. Timothy, guard
what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those
who oppose you with their so-called knowledge. Some people have wandered from the faith
by following such foolishness.1 Timothy 6:19-21
Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot
destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your
heart will also be. Matthew 6:20-21
So whatever the
desires of your heart is/are then be sure you give them up to the Heavenly
Father to hold, protect and direct you in which way to go to achieve the things
He has planned. After all He gives us the desires of our heart, so of course He
will bring it to pass in His time.
Heavenly Father,
help us to hide the treasures, You give us in Your Word, in our hearts and
minds that we not only will not sin against You but that we can walk in Your
promises. In Jesus name, amen
