Just Keep Walking-- In His Word 8-13-2018

Just keep Walking- In His Word 8-6-18

As we being Vacation Bible Day camps there is always a small mount of turmoil to overcome. The thing is we know it is coming, and as such we prepare in the Word of God to battle the weapons of the enemy. The good news is that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal by nature, but comes with more power and the Holy Spirit victory. We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We used God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8: 6

This means that our God is in charge of the war between being humanly weak or spiritually strong. Sometimes the enemy we are fighting is ourselves; sometimes we are the obstacle that gets in the way of our knowing God.
But I know God, I am a Christian! This is true but do you know God’s will? Sometimes we can get caught up in the cares of this world, in other words; we do not see the mountain for the mole hill.

We see the small things and allow ourselves to be annoyed at these small things; things like bad attitudes, complaining, disagreeing, people not doing what they say they will do or are just plain rude to us. This can set us off on a tangent or it can give us an avenue to show how close we are to Christ by our actions.

Even a child is known by his actions weather is deeds or conduct is really pure, or good and right. Proverbs 20:11

How do we know that we are closer to God? We know, for we are known by our works. We are known by our fruits: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain I me. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit For apart from me you can do nothing.  John 15:4-5

So if God’s Word tells us that we must remain in Him and if we read more we can find that God, Jesus through the Holy Spirit keeps the two of us together, then we know that we must remain in Him by keeping connected to the Branch.
But how do we stay connected so that we may produce fruit of our labors?  And what is fruit?

We stay connected by spending time in the Word of God daily, and in prayer often. In reality we cannot always spend all day on our knees, but God knows this and this is why the Holy Spirit is our guide and directs our path constantly through our day. He truly is with us always and so we can talk to Him as we come up against an obstacle I our path.  Instead of fretting and being annoyed and confuse we can stop and give ourselves a spiritual pep talk in the Word, and talk about what we have found in His Word each day. We can remind ourselves of the goodness throughout the day by keeping His Word in our hearts.

Think about it this way; we read- we feed- we get strong both spiritually and physically.
When we read more of the Bible we will feel stronger in the Word, but also stronger to resolve to keep peace in our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Sometimes it can seem people and things get in our way, but God has a way of moving obstacles of this kind when we are focused on Him and His will.
The way to know His will is to get in the Word too!  Then we can take a good look at the directions He has for us and follow it. The Bible is full of things that tell us what the will of God is toward us! There are 507 verses on my Bible Search engine!
It is God’s will that you should be sanctified; and in control of your physical body. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

James 1:5 says that if we lack wisdom we should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will e given to us.

Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:6 that we are to obey those in authority over us and not just to get on their good side but because God said to.  Then in doing what God says we will be walking in His goodness and His favor. It is way better than mans. So if we are walking in the walk that God has us doing and it is His favor then when temptation comes at us we can just keep on walking… In His Word!

Dear Heavenly Father help us to keep walking when trouble and trials come against us; help us keep waking out the Word when temptation calls … help us to keep walking in Your presence in Your love, and in Your Word, In Jesus name, amen.
