Are you doubting or trusting? In His Word
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past
to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these
last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all
things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the
brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and
upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of
the Majesty on high, 4 having become
so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more
excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:1-4
I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the
Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.”19 Then they said to Him, “Where is Your
Father?”
Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would
have known My Father also.”
20 These words Jesus spoke in the
treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one laid hands on Him, for His
hour had not yet come. John 8:18-20
The disciples could not have doubted Christ very much while he
walked the earth but I know they doubted their own faith because He told them
many times to do so. Peter was walking
on water and He began to doubt and started sinking before Jesus grabbed him.
But
when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and
beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to
him, “O you of little faith, why did you
doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the
wind ceased.
Matthew 14:30-32
Think
for a moment; do you recall something you were trusting God for that you gave
up on? Trust Him a little bit more! Peter found that as Jesus reached out ad
grabbed hold of his hand that He could stand and walk back to the boat. The
wind ceased at that point!
I
want to point out that once he walked back to the boat with Jesus, on the
water, they got into the boat and the storm stopped.
Maybe
you are going through a storm and God has shown you that it is He, but you are
as Peter and doubting. Maybe you are not seeing it but if this is the case,
Jesus has a hand outstretched to you to help you not just through that storm to
the boat but to stop the storm in your life!
Peace be still!
Do we forget that the Word has the direction for our lives?
My son, do
not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; For length
of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Let not
mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the
tablet of your heart, and so find
favor and high esteem n i the sight of God and man. Trust in the
Lord with all
your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Proverbs 3:1-8

God’s Word gives us so
much information to follow and the if we do then we get this thing, that
sometimes its easy to forget the real point is in the doing!
Our Church leads are
heard saying “We do the Word” and this is what it means; to do what the Word
says to do and to walk in it, not looking for “what’s in it for me” but
accepting them when they come. Accept the fact that God can heal you, accept
the storm being calmed… accept God’s forgiveness that comes when we forgive
others for their trespasses against us!
Oh wait , Teresa His
love is unconditional! Does that really mean I need to do something to get
something? No, not His love, you get that and life eternal when you choose to
believe you it; but the forgiveness of your sins, you must ask, repent and ask
for forgiveness. The healing sometimes God does without being asked but He
likes us to ask as well.
But it all comes when we
remember to Trust Him!
Believe, trust, love,
hope, healing, help, direction; it all comes when we make the choice to do what
the Word says to do.
Do the Word! Walk the
Walk, and do as He says! Your life will get better but wont it be better walking
in the presence of Jesus while it gets there?
The storm would stop,
and Peter cold have swam back, but Jesus took His hand and lead him back to the
boat then stopped the storm,
So what are you going to
do? It’s a sink or swim moment! Grab a hold of Jesus’ hand.
Dear Heavenly Father;
Thank you for the faith to trust You, through Jesus to reach out his hand to
save us! Thank you for Your forgiveness, Your love and mercy each day! Renew
our hearts to be right with you in Jesus name, amen.
