Get it! ! In His Word- 10-20-17

In His Word 10-30-17

Do you feel like your light has gone out today? Are you walking in the darkness wondering how you will see what is around the corner? Have hope; for if God is for you no one, no thing, can stand against you!

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us,Then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us; Psalm 124:2-3

Each week we come together and encourage one another to read the Word of God, to pray, and to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts and minds as we do. I often think about the fact that it is not something we and just decide to do and do, when speaking of making time for God. I mean most of the people reading this have busy days; they work for a living or work for a lifetime and yet; if God is for us nothing can stand against us! Not a lack of time, not a lack of quiet, not a lack of peaceful surroundings. No if God wants to take time with you, and He does, then He will make a way for us to take time with Him. Our Job is to see it and achieve it!

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 2 Timothy 1:6-8 New Living Translation (NLT)

Make a plan to get up ten minutes earlier tomorrow and spend that ten minutes just talking to God about your day. Make Him and His Word, your personal planner!

After all when Jesus in the flesh left this world He sent the Comforter to be with us. We know Him by His name; the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is with you, and if you are a believer in Christ He is, then you have the best Personal Assistant there is!

Don’t get upset if things are not flowing right yet, no one is perfect but God and this means that we will all run into piles of laundry and dirty cat boxes in our day. It’s how we tackle them that is important. Do we get upset and rant and rave, or do we tackle the problem with plastic gloves and a scented bag? They are not things that we cannot handle, just things we would rather not have to be the one to do.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17

Don’t beat yourself up over not having a good attitude, change it! Just make the decision to have a better outlook on the mess you have to deal with today, whatever it is. Whether it is corporate or Mail Room level problems, we all have them. We can grab ahold of things like a kid holds a helium filled balloon; not wanting to let it go for anything, even when it gets in the way of doing things. Think for a moment on that thing that is causing you to stumble, if not fall. Imagine it is a balloon that you are carrying with you wherever you go. Wherever you go, driving, walking, cleaning, working at a desk or gong to a meeting, it’s there with you on string. You have to make room for it on the elevator, and in the car to be sure you can see. Now that you have a visual on it, cut the string.

It is such a hassle to be careful not to let it go, even when you are holding your kids, or trying to sleep; it is always there. So cut the string already. Let it go!

The thing with balloons full of helium when you let go of them they fly away and eventually they pop.

The things we hold dear, thinking we have to deal with them from day to day are the very things that are keeping us from being free of the bondage that will trip us up. I have things I do not need to keep, yet I deal with them daily, some are fears, some are frustrations and seriously my friend they are keeping me from pursuing the things God has given me to do. Lately His Word has been telling me to let it go! To focus on Him and trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 is just the beginning of the trust He wants us to give Him.

Trust is Totally releasing un-needed stupid trash from our lives and Taking real uplifting spiritual Tawg-time. Take that time alone with God, make that time alone with God. Don’t allow sleep, or work, or the perfect hair do, to keep yourself from setting aside the time with Him..
Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward the complete holiness because we fear God. Please open your hearts to us. We have not done wrong to anyone, no led anyone astray nor taken advantage of anyone I'm not saying this to condemn you. I said it before that your are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you. 2 Corinthians 7:1-3

Get rid of the balloon, let it go and take on the time thing with God, it’s not as hard as it sounds. It’s not as easy as it sounds either! It is funny to read but really it is all in how we choose to look at it.

Today let’s make it a pack to choose to look at the situations we are using to keep our spirit man down; laundry, dishes, paperwork, an irritating coworker, a car that is not exactly the one we wish we had, more money; I could list ideas all day but you probably get it by now. You know what your thing is that is keeping you from taking the time with God you should, so get to it!

But… you think you are the only one who has this problem and the only one who can’t find time with God? Wrong! There is nothing new under the son! Everyone has a thing they are struggling with!

The difference between those who look like they are finding all the time in the world to read and pray are that they have already made the choice to let go of the stress balloon and allow God to minister to them in Spirit and in truth. Ask Him to help you today. Maybe you are holding on to your balloons with two hands, ask God to cut the strings and help you organize your life so you can spend the time with Him you know you desire to in your heart of hearts.

You know you want to let go, so ask Him for help. You will have just started your time with Him.

If you think you need more help there are many books out there that get you started in reading a scripture a day, then a chapter a day and even a book a day for some people. Start with the suggested reading for this week. Try to read one link a day!

Then ask God about what you read, or pray the words it brings to your mind about changing your heart and making it new; that we may be more like Jesus every day.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word. Bless us today with your Presence as we read, pray and take a Selah moment before we get going with the daily tasks. Design our day to walk in Your will, and your guidance, in Jesus name. Amen.

Suggested Reading; 2 Timothy 1:1-18, 2 Corinthians 7:1-16, Psalm 124:1-8, and Psalm 16:1-11.
