Are you walking in the light of His presence?

Are you walking in the Light of His presence? In His Word-6-19-17

Happy are those who here the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation, they exult in your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16

Early in the morning we are drawn to Him in a way that other times of the day distractions and needs get in the way. Try this one time, wake up early, get out of bed go be in a space where you are alone and can pretty much hear nothing. Open your Bible, the Word of God; begin to read the Psalms and read them as a song to God. Worship Him with your obedience to rising up, and with the joy of the Word speaking forth from your lips. It may amaze you how great your day is after this. Even though you woke early things will be easier to accept as they fall apart before you, because you started your day in communication with the Lord God.

That is what walking in the light of His presence is.
Think for a moment of the light that is placed on your front path to show visitors and those who reside there how to find the door. This is the light that guides them just as Jesus is the Light that guides us and others around us to the ‘Door” to God. When we walk carrying that light we can show others to God as we walk in His presence, right? We will shine with His truth, with His peace and with His love; we will be a beacon on a hill.

12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:11-13

Teach me your ways oh or, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you. With all of my heart I will praise you O Lord my God. I will give glory to Your name forever; for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.  Psalm 86:11-13

You see when we spend time in the presence of His Word, and in doing so the Holy Spirit speaks to us we can know what we are to do with our lives. He gives us direction in the Word, and then His Spirit gives us understanding to what He gave us to read.

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us[a] and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

We also want to become a pleasing aroma unto God in our praises and worship of our God; when we lift up our praised to God we find that He not only hears us but we will give off a radiance of sacrificial love. This is what I believe that sweet, sweet aroma of praise and worship truly is.
When we do this daily we will find our disposition, our discernment of what to get involved in both emotionally and physically will be clearer. We will find we have a better attitude and bounce back into it if things get messy.
When we dig into the Word, and worship Him daily we will find that purity of heart that Psalm 86 talks about, and God will smell that deliciously pleasing aroma of our true worship to and of Him.
We need to be obedient to the first step of making the time to bask in His presence, and He will take our hand and lead us past the dark places in our lives into the light that will shine before all those around us. They will see the change in us and some may doubt it is real but God will shine like a light in the darkness so keep on the path! Follow His presence and walk in it.

Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper,    rise up from the dead,    and Christ will give you light.”
Epheisans 5:6-14
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the Light of the world that You brought to us that we may walk once again in Your presence as in the Garden. Draw us nearer to You each day as we spend our time just enjoying Your presence in the Word, and worship, in Jesus name amen.
