I am Nothing… in His Word 6-27-16
It is true, we are nothing. The funny thing is the world tries to tell
us we are somebody, but I want to make it clear if we do not have Christ we are
nothing at all. We are no body without Him as our head. He created us to love,
both one another and to love Him with all our hearts, minds, souls, and
strengths! Yes all of us!
Some one out there has been lying to you though, telling you that you
can do it alone, you can be the one who stands alone and goes against the grain
to do what is right in God’s eyes. They told you to do what you think is right;
well guess what, they are wrong!

Either that or they just claimed to be God’s people and didn’t really
trust Him to come through so they did it on their own; of course they failed. It
is written;
Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you
cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
“Yes, I am the vine; you
are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much
fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is
thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into
a pile to be burned. John 15:4-6
We can do and be a lot in the eyes of
the world but once we are gone; we are off the charts… only God can help us
then! God is Love, and His Word tells us that we need love.
We are lost without love even the world
says that. Everything we see on tv, whether we realize it or not is calling for
us to love something or some one.
If we have love, the real love that
comes from God then we have everything. Without love, His love, we are nothing.
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and
understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so
that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all
my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my
body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Love suffers long and is kind; love
does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not
behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not
rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all
things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never
fails. But whether there are prophecies,
they will fail; whether there are tongues, they
will cease; whether there is knowledge, it
will vanish away. 9 For we know in
part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that
which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a
child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but
when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we
see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I
shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide
faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 4-13
With God, with Love, we can
do anything… but without Him we are nothing.
Think about all that you
have in life, food, a computer to read this on, a place to sleep, friend and or
family. All of these things exist because of God and His Love. Go back over the
scriptures and read “His Love” in place of just ‘love’ and think today about
how much He loves you and how that makes you something.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank
you that in Your eyes I am somebody, something, and do count. Thank you that
You listen to every prayer, every cry and that You suffered for my sorrow. Help
me to share you love today and every day, in Jesus name, Amen.
