Hidden Treasures in His Word 12-28-15

As a child I always loved to go on a hunt for a clue, now as an adult I have enjoyed years of making hunts for my kids to follow at their birthday parties and occasionally to find gifts. I have even utilized my home school teaching skills to create for at least one of my kids a treasure hunt in the Word of God.
I love searching for a very special scripture, love topical Bible study writing partly because it means I have to go on a hunt for the scriptures that follow my topic. One of my most favorite hunts to go on is one that involves finding treasure! Today as we near the end of one calendar and the beginning of a new one lets take some time to figure out the clues and follow the treasures that are indeed; in His Word!

The first gem is found in Palm 101:1-8. God searches for pure hearts in us. Matthew 5:1-28.  We need to search to find the right treasures to put in our hearts. Matthew 6:1-21. He wants us to search the scriptures to find hope for tomorrow and next year. He wants to give us a future and a hope. Look up the above scriptures if you click the link from the web page it will open for you. In Psalm 139:23-24 you will find one of the most important prayers to pray daily in order to keep a pure heart of treasure.

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39 When we search the scriptures both Old, and New Testaments, the words will bring us treasure that we can use each day. Some are buried in stories someone else lived but there is a gem in there for you and for me today.

In Colossians 2:1-23 you will find where the treasure is hidden that will bring you everything you need! This treasure is the best!

For Christ Jesus is the treasure of all treasures!

The  true treasure, Jesus Christ in our lives and in hearts gives us a pure heart by instructing us in righteousness and helping us learn how to behave Christ-like. If we are being called “Christians” or ‘of Christ’ we must seek to find the Word that is our strength giving living water. We can grow in Him, become more like Him; when we put our hearts in His hand and study to know His Word for ourselves. Don’t waste your time arguing about something you really know nothing about. Instead get into a Bible Study program, class or follow one on face book that is reputable and truthful. Do the study to show yourself approved to God. Do the treasure hunt daily to get stronger in your walk with Christ and truly know what He would do each day.

Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. 1 Timothy 1:4-6

Dear Heavenly Father, Help us daily to seek for your treasure in the Word and to grow more like you with each passing day. Guide us through Your words today, in Jesus name, amen.
