Wisdom In His Word
6-30-14
There is wisdom in
leading a life according to the Word of God, but many people think it is
foolish. The Word of God tells us He will use the foolish things to this world
to confound the wise of this world; I think I would choose to be considered
foolish in people’s eyes and wise in God’s eyes; He is the author and creator
of all things!
Does not wisdom cry out
and understanding lift up her voice? Proverbs 8:1
Wisdom from God is pure
and true, though sometimes man twists it and misuses it for his own sake. God
means for good and God means wisdom for greatness but man uses the wisdom He
gives us in selfish ways. For personal gain we will pull out the wise sayings
in the Word of God and publish it, not just to make a living but to put
ourselves out there in the public eye. We know many false prophets and
preachers have been brought down by the Lord when they try to put themselves in
the forefront and not God.
Wisdom in the Word brings
us many things; the book of proverbs teaches prudence, understanding excellent
things, truth, hatred of wickedness, righteousness, knowledge, discretion and
fear of the Lord. It shows us where we
may yield riches and honor in a godly way. IT is greater than these things, not
even gold and silver are as valuable as wisdom and wisdom according to God’s
Word excels beyond our means! It is not about us attaining riches, but when we
walk in God’s wisdom this may happen; we use the wisdom of God to further His
kingdom, in doing so we may further our own!
The God focused wise will
find life that is fruitful and fulfilling in a way that pleases our God; the
maker of all things; the foolish men just live to die.
In verse 8 of the same
chapter we read; I will speak of excellent things, and from the opening of my
lips will come right things for my mouth will speak truth; wickedness is an abomination
to my lips. Proverbs 8:8
The next verse goes on to
tell us how important it is to speak truth and righteous words not evil and
wicket, foul mouthed words. These things will bring health to our body, when
the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts are acceptable unto
Him!
Here is some wisdom!
If I were applying for a
job I would dress for success, I would my attire to fit the needs of that
company. We walk in the presence of God every day and yet we do not even try to
appear to have the fear of God in our hearts, we claim not to have to fear God,
not to worry about how we behave or what we do to our bodies because God will
forgive us!
That is not wisdom my
friend, that is worldly living in foolishness!
We need to prep ourselves
for successful God-fearing, God pleasing living, we need to put into our minds
the words from His Word that we would have that come out of our hearts and
minds, not the filth that we ingest each day on videos or songs that the world
sings and shows. Think about it, is it wisdom to fill your mouth with cuss
words that will offend others? No, because what comes out of your mouth is what
is in your heart!
So if you find your words
are foul, your heart must be sour too!
What can we do? How can
we clean up our act and get wisdom in our hearts and minds?
Some may think me foolish
but I truly believe we can find hope for tomorrow, peace for today and
unspeakable joy in the middle of a crisis all in the pages of our Bible!
Today I found wisdom!
I learned that it is wise to give God
glory;
-
to walk In His Word
-
to sing His praise
-
to obey His
directions
-
to seek Him and His guidance
-
to delight myself in
Him and spend time realizing that His presence is constant in my life, our
lives
-
to read, pray and
meditate on His Word daily
-
to seek the Lord
while He may be found, that I may be found faithful in His sight.
Let us take time to be
wise in His Word today, and every day as we put our trust, hope, and love in
Him.
Dear heavenly Father,
thank you for Your Wisdom is enough to guide us through the crazy days ahead.
Keep us focused on You as we walk through our summer months and keep us on your
path, drawing us nearer daily, in Jesus name, amen.
