Standing Steadfast In His Word

Sitting in church is a really big inspiration for me; I don’t always keep up with the pastor but the Lord gives me a ton of things to think on. So I was wondering if it’s okay to go to church and get my own message. I am persuaded to believe that all is good if I am receiving from the Holy Spirit and it is good and just and straight from the Bible.

This week our pastor was starting a new series on the topic of being unstoppable Christians. This week he shared about “Unstoppable Courage”. Though he used Daniel as his person of interest for having courage I was lost in thought about the Hebrews 11 faith chapter. He had us turn to a portion near this and I was lost in how faith is how we become unstoppable in Christ. I can’t wait to follow this series to see where it goes!
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:1-3
Faith makes us Unstoppable Christians! Without faith we cannot please God, without God we cannot have faith because He is the reason we have faith in the first place. Pleasing God and becoming unmoved, steadfast and strong, in our faith go hand in hand. Look at Sarah and Abram; they were given a promise of a family so large that the stars and sand were compared to them. They had no children yet, and still they trusted that God would come through on the promise He gave them.
Look at Paul and Silas in the prison, from last week; they praised the Lord worshiping Him singing out from the chains that bound them. His work is unstoppable! Their faith no only freed them; it freed the guard’s family from Satan’s grasp as well!

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Moses was unwavering in his resolve to free his people from slavery; he could have become Pharaoh but instead he pushed through to the One True God, the God of Abraham and Isaac; the God who is unstoppable! Moses had faith to move not only mountains to bring water but water to bring people to freedom!
It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.  It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible. Hebrews 11:24-27

He kept his eyes on the direction God had given him; again and again he was full of faith immovable!

How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.  By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. Women received their loved ones back again from death. Hebrews 11:32-35

God is unstoppable and He gives us unstoppable faith! He gives us peace that is not going to leave us when we go through terrible things and walk through fiery furnaces He does not leave us; His presence is always with us no matter if we know it or not. With the faith He gives us to believe for His promise we can become unstoppable, unmovable, and unbelievably strong in our faith; faith is trusting in a great big God who moves mountains and calms seas. Our God is faithful to be unstoppable in our walk.

Trust in the Lord and do good and He will exalt you to inherit the land. Psalm 37:3-4.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not into your own understanding—have faith in God to do what He promised and do not faint, but in all things acknowledge Him and He will make your path possible! (Paraphrased from Proverbs 3:5-6.)

So where is your faith today? What is it you believe for? Peace? Hope in the Lord for He is unwavering, unshakable and yes, unstoppable! Trust Him to bring it to pass!
Stand up for God today because He is standing before the Father for you.
He has given you faith like that of a mustard seed; it will persevere and grow strong in flavor and be resilient in that growth even against odds of drought. I tested the growth of a seed from the spice rack; it grew with very little attention. Our faith should be strong and full of the Holy Spirit today. Trust Him to do it; whatever it is!

Dear Heavenly Father; give us unstoppable faith today! Give us direction in how to trust you more and more and watch as we become unquenchably strong in our faith and trust in You as You do what was promised; in Jesus Name, amen.
