Celebrate the Call to Hope! Advent Day 4 ~ 12-4-2025
Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit,
binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit,
just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. Ephesians 4:3-5
If we are not aligned with the Spirit we will be caught up
in the cares of the world. This time of year can be emotionally draining and
cause upheaval in our lives. It can, but it doesn’t have to! As we recall in our
old lives we were tossed to and frow by every wind and wave that came across
the tv or today the computer screens or phones on whatever media device we
choose. Maybe you are still there, but I want you to know that if you choose to
follow Jesus, not just the baby but the full on Father-Son-Holy Spirit package
you will find peace in this season. Maybe even happiness and joy! You will
probably find you want to alter how you used to do things too!.
To stay united in the Spirit read your Bible every day and pray. This
starts the pattern and then we continue with worshipful Christmas songs and
decorations that honor God. Personally, I love nativities that reminds me of
His birth. No, I do not go overboard but I have ornaments, the one with the
light up star that my cat loves to lay down next to when I put up my little
snowy town each year. It’s been fun over the years to receive a new portion to
the town or purchase in the after Christmas sales to the point I am content with
the buildings but add the people and other things now. That is an important
thing, I’m not overdoing things! When we were ‘of this world’ we may have
wanted to get the big, exciting splash of everything but as we come to be not
of this world but just living in it for a time in our focus then it’s easier to
make those decoration decisions as well as how much you want to give whomever you
have to give gifts. Things don’t have to be the huge fancy stuff that stresses
you out in January when you have to pay for them kind of gifts. Remember Jesus
was the perfect gift, and He was born in a manger humbly brought into this
world. As we become closer to Christ we
will see the better choices that keep the peace, hope, love and joy in our
hearts and minds and keep us from stressing out overspending money. Look for
the gifts that keep on giving, like those mentioned above, Bible verses and
Worship music and prayers are the best way to keep on track to our calling and
hope for tomorrow to be a better day than today!
Trust God, He knew
what He was doing!
Trust God He knows what He is doing today.
Trust God for tomorrow and put your hope and faith in Christ
Jesus to carry you through this season of Hope to a place of achieving the
things you are hoping for!
Remember Faith is the substance of things Hoped for!
Heavenly Father, help us to keep our eyes on You today,
tomorrow and the days after that! Help us to focus on Your Word and hide it in
our hearts that we would not sin against you. Help us to sing worship songs
when we feel down, and to thank you for the things we are hoping for in our
future, in Jesus’ name…
Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You
were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their
circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. In
those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from
citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant
promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without
hope. But now you have been united with
Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought
near to him through the blood of Christ. Epheseans 2:11-13
