What are you thinking about? In His Word 8-3-2025

Here's what I was thinking about to day...

We have been taught through the world to have ‘positive thinking’ to live a positive life. I want to go a bit further, because positive thinking only can truly work for you when the Holy Spirit is involved. In order for that to happen we need Him in our lives. As it says below we need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, as God’s Son and our Lord in order to have Him in our lives.

And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.  And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:11-15

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.  Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. Colossians 3:1-4

We need to keep our thinking away from the stinking thinking and onto the good things about God, and His work in our lives. By the way, if you’re thinking He is not working in your life, think again! Every day you are alive to walk the earth, or how every you get around or breath the fresh or smoggy air, God is at work in you. It is not always clear as you think it should be but as I look back in my own life even before I knew it God was at work. He saved me from many dangers, terrors and sorrows, even though I did not know it was Him at hand, and some that I did!

So as we think of the right things, we can think of needs others may have too! We can share good news, good thoughts of hope and joy when they feel bad, or even if they just have been in the wrong place in their lives. If a friend who is a Christian gets down, or gets carried away with doing the things of this world we can encourage them to get back where they belong, in His Word! We should of course pray first, then share the glory of God working in and around us. As long as we share the scripture it will not come back void, but it will  complete God’s purpose.

If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it.  All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death.

We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.  We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.1 John 5:16-20

If nothing else comes to town share these message about Jesus in our lives, as we share what we do know, more things will come from it!

Now some people may think its odd, but I started my little YouTube page to reach out to people who could not be there. Who could not leave their homes during the big shut down time of 2020. Since then it has evolved to do a count down to the New Year, a Bible Study, Daily walk, and a weekly Car Talk. Coffee and T’ has helped people to get reconnected, even if its just a few people a week I know that someone is reading and some even will comment to me in person or other avenues to tell me that it made a difference. I am not saying this to brag but to tell you that if I can do this so can you!

Some people get laugh about of my way of sharing, and others get challenged to do the right things occasionally. The idea is as it says below. To let the message about Christ completely fill your lives. All our lives, every bit of us! Even those who cannot read the weekly devotional blogs or buy a bible study can be reached in one way or another. But this is the way God uses me. He can use you in a way that you can share the Gospel Message or how God helped you. Either in written, verbal or film  it all works to bring glory to God. (If you have viewed my videos you can tell its not about me getting glory they are pretty wacky at times, my filming is not that great! But God reaches whom He chooses through that!)

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:16-17

Through living our  lives according to His Word, He will fill our hearts and minds with the right things. It is a real circle of life! We read the Word, God fills our hearts and minds with the good things of God, then we spill out the words we read as we live and sometimes speak out the goodness of God. Give it a try!

Read, think, live it! You can do it! You just have to think the right things to live the right life. The Right Life in one Life in Christ!
