Pray- It Makes You Stronger in Your Walk with Christ
Good morning! Do you know that you have a great big reason to rejoice today? You have prayed for 7 days straight! They say 7 days with out prayer makes one weak, so I believe 7 days with prayer makes one strong! You are growing in your prayer life. You might be excited to realize you actually have a ‘prayer life’. As we seek God daily in prayer we will find ourselves quicker to react to things in the right way. We will find ourselves asking God questions before making wrong choices, and instead making the correct ones.
Psalm 63
A psalm of David,
regarding a time when David was in the wilderness of Judah .
1 O God, you
are my God;
I
earnestly search for you.
My
soul thirsts for you;
my
whole body longs for you
in
this parched and weary land
where
there is no water.
2 I have seen
you in your sanctuary
and
gazed upon your power and glory.
3 Your
unfailing love is better than life itself;
how
I praise you!
4 I will praise
you as long as I live,
lifting
up my hands to you in prayer.
5 You satisfy
me more than the richest feast.
I
will praise you with songs of joy.
6 I lie awake thinking of you,
meditating on you through the night.
7 Because you are my helper,
I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you;
your strong right hand holds me securely.
9 But those plotting to destroy me will come to ruin.
They will go down into the depths of the
earth.
10 They will die by the sword
and become the food of jackals.
11 But the king will rejoice in God.
All who trust in him will praise him,
while liars will be silenced.
Psalm 63:1-11
Did you trust Him this week? Did our God help you through
the struggle to commit to a week of prayer times? And yet you made it through!
Rejoice!
You can rejoice today knowing the first week is over! This
was the hard part, getting started on a routine
I want you to get excited today for your God has helped you through
this week, even when you doubted you could do it! This is still only the
beginning of your prayer journey but you can know that God will help you
through the weeks to come..
Don’t stop now! Pray today about three things that you are
excited about God doing in your life this week.
Good Morning Lord …
Pray- why pray?
“We can go though the motions, we can try all of the formulas- praying for
an hour, praying the Our Father, praying the scriptures, praying ACTS
(adoration, confession, transgressions and supplication,) but really prayer
is just talking to God… being real with Him…it is having a relationship
with him…telling him how we feel and what is going on with us…it is
talking to my best friend...it is talking to my Father who loves me so much,
it is talking to the God who created the heavens and earth… is a
privilege and an honor!
My favorite times in prayer are not just spent in my talking but in
listening to what the Lord has to say to me through His word or regarding
what I am praying about. I love to journal and write out my prayers and
then journal what the Lord says back to me.....at times He affirms me, at
times He encourages me, at times He corrects me with total love, and at
times He reveals things to come. No prayer time is the same!”
