Dailies ~ In His Word
October 2019
It is a little funny, but people who
graduate from High School or College, or even just mid life itself seem to be
looking to ‘find themselves’ and/or to ‘figure out what to do with the rest of their
lives’. God knew this is how it would be, and I find it pretty cool that He had
a plan for it! In the book o Titus, chapter 2, He gave specific directions in
how to behave, and what to speak of. Basically the whole Bible tells us how to
live, but this book has it more plainly spelled out. As I read through this today I am reminded of the direction he gives to those of my age; to be a good example and help those younger than I am to walk the walk of Christ like quality. Its a big load to carry but one we an do with the help of the Lord via the Holy Spirit!
But as for you, speak the things which
are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent,
temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women
likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much
wine, teachers of good things— that they
admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be discreet,
chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that
the word of God may not be blasphemed. Likewise,
exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things
showing yourself to be a
pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity,
reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that
cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing
evil to say of you. Titus 2:1-8
It
is pretty clear that we older folks are here for the younger folks and the
youngers are here to live right and be a good example or those younger than
them still!
Heavenly
Father, help us to live a life that is bringing Glory to Your name, and proof
of your exixistance in our lives. Help us to do the right things, with Your
help, In Jesus’ name, amen.
