Dailies ~ in
His Word

My heart
gets sad sometimes when I hear that people are asking God to forgive their sins
again that they already have asked for forgiveness from. I mean, if you are
still walking around sinning all willy nilly then maybe you would need to but
if you feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit within you when you even think
about doing the things you know God doesn’t want you to do, I think God has
forgiven you.
What is
more, the people who dwell on the past who think God is holding on to the
things we did to use against us worry me. God, in Jesus’ name has erased the
memory of what we did before we believed in Christ and repented, asked forgiveness
of our sins. So if you think about it asking for Him to again forgive what you
did in your B.C. days (Before Christ) is ridiculous because once we are
forgiven He forgets it by choice!
And the
Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, “This is the new covenant I will make with my people
on that day, says the Lord: I will put my
laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
Then he
says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”
And when sins
have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. Hebrews
10:15-18
We should remember that His law is on our heart and mind
because the Holy Spirit is there to keep us from going back to our old ways. We
do not want to be like a dog going back to his vomit; we want to focus on the
positive influences of God instead of thinking of how much we want to do the
thing we gave up for Christ so many years ago.
You may find it silly but I do not listen to music from the
world because when I first was saved God took it from me and gave me such joy
and peace by listening to worship, or Christian Rock music. The heavy metal and hard rock that I used to
hear started to give me a head ache, when I turned to my favorite Christian
station it would vanish instantly.
I know secular music I not sin, but it helped me transition
to a life with Christ and to put the right thoughts in my head. So it can be
used as an example of what we think on, bringing us to sin or to wholeness with
Him.
God wants us to sanctify ourselves before
Him, to fill our heart and mind with the right things, His Word, His plans, and
His Spirit!
Let us
hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to
keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love
and good works. And let us not neglect
our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially
now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25
Heavenly Father, help us to encourage one another to be
strong and focused on Your Promises, that You are with us always and that we
may share your love as we encourage others and do good as well, in Jesus name
amen.
