Continue on! In His Word 5-19-2025
Recently we were on a trip and I did like I do and fell.
Literally fell. I caught my foot on a
door of a bathroom and nearly face planted into the wall, disrupted a shelf,
and hyperextended my leg.
I could have just given up right then, but I praised God
that I would be able to get up.
With my husbands help I stood and by the time I walked to
the bed I was feeling like maybe I would be okay. I felt weak, and yes I hurt but you know
what, I could keep on going! I continued on through the days. Two days later a
new friend Debbie asked to pray for me. When she did I realized I would gain
strength but I did not realize the next morning I would be waling around like I
had not injured myself!
What a blessing!
When stuff happens in life and we get all pulled out of
place, or feel like falling down, do it! Or allow someone else to pray for you.
Fall to your knees and cry out to Jesus for help! Then pick yourself
and your Bible up and dig in to God’s words of direction, encouragement and
strength! The words themselves will speak to you throught the Holy Spirit and
strength and hope will come, one way or another, into your heart and mind.
Still, the healing takes long for the permanent and it can
be tiring at times to wait for the Lord do complete what He started.
Dear brothers and
sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity
for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has
a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed,
you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give
it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith
is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as
unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive
anything from the Lord, loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they
are unstable in everything they do. Believers who are poor have something to
boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God
has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field. The
hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and
its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of
their achievements. James 1:2-11
Do not be discouraged, but instead ask God to show you what to learn from this.
I was humbled, I learned that it’s okay to let someone pray
for me, even if I barely know them! God heard her prayers. Obviously! I was
humbled that God told her to pray, I was trying to just tough it out.
I learned to be stronger in His Word with others around me
as well. It taught me to accept the help of others too! Step by step I gained
control of the pain, the swelling, etc. The lessons just added up as I went on walks
in Rome, where Peter and Paul both had been during their lives, I was able to
walk for miles and miles throughout the days. This section of verses below are
really good to remind us things add up, and add on; god ca be in them,
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance,
to perseverance godliness, to godliness
brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are
yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of
our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks
these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was
cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren,
be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these
things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you
abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2Peter 1:5-11
As I went on the days outings I wore reminders, the jacket I
mentioned last week, but also two or three wrist bracelets. One says Chosen on
a leather strap, and one says DWJW, or do what Jesus did, The third one came
from Debbie! She gave out scripture bracelets and mine said “I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me!”
it was perfect!
Instead of giving up and just being a wimp during this trip
I found strength in His Word, Prayer and things that reminded me to find my
strength in Him.
In His Love
