To the full! In His Word 8-17-26
Does God give us place for just enjoying life as it comes?
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full! John 10:10 niv
The question is do you just enjoy life not realizing that
the Lord Jesus died for you and so you are not giving Him glory, or are you
living your life as a light shining bright for Christ?
I am thinking for a moment. If we are crucified with Christ
and the life you now live is one that is through Christ. (Galatians 2:20)
You and I are to live
a life that exemplifies that Christ Centered person that is now us. So fi I am
just living life I need to uphold that representation. But does that mean all I
can do is walk around telling people about Jesus every day? Does that mean I
can’t eat chocolate and chips? No! It
does not, now should I gorge myself on these? Probably not! I should work to
keep a healthy body that will be able to go places and see people who need Him
and share the Gospel, but that is my core. My core self is in the center of my
lifestyle. That does not mean I cant go on vacation, and many pastors and
priests would tell you that they take breaks now and then just as God did in
the beginning, and even Jesus went off by himself a few times! The point is that whatever we are doing in
that time off we need to be sure that Jesus would see us as representing Him
well. What it does not mean is that we can go off and do things the world would
do, because we are not of this world, though we live in it. (As Jesus shared in
John 18:35-37)
But we are to plant seeds wherever we go, and whatever we
do, we should not be able to help ourselves. Like Jesus said in John 12:24-26,
we are not of this world but we are to plant seeds that will help others to
know Him and in doing this it shows that we are not in love with this world but
in love with Christ and doing what He says. So if I go to a celebration or
party my Christ centeredness should automatically plant seeds of desire in
other peoples’ hearts. He calls us His own, and in that statement alone we
should have the desire to please Him by sharing His love, His goodness and
kindness and the rest of the fruits of the spirit with those around us wherever
we go.
So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do; do it all
for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be
saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s
purpose is to steal and kill and destroy, but My purpose is to give them a rich
and satisfying life. I am the good shepherd The good shepherd sacrifices his
life for the Sheep. John 10:10-12
Take delight in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s
desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and HE will help you
…Psalm 37:4-7
Store your treasures in heaven where moths and rust cannot
destroy and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever our treasure is there
the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 26:20-21
So yes, enjoy life as you live it but more than that share
the goodness of God in your life with others. Enjoy a Christ Centered life that
helps you to feel safe living and enjoying life without being controlled by the
desire to enjoy life more than sharing Christ alone. Instead live a life that
shares Jesus by everything you do, not just by the words of your mouth but the
words of your testimony. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct our paths as we enjoy
it, give generously, encourage lovingly and assist kindly, as we share the
example of Christ in all that we do.
